What is a Large Pin Trigger?
If your AR-15 rifle is NOT a Colt you don’t have to worry about “Large Pin” triggers as an option for you. Large Pin AR-15 triggers really only apply to Colt rifles as Colt is the only AR brand to have ever produced both small and large diameter pins in their triggers. Generally speaking Colt AR-15 rifles produced before 1991 and after late 2009 accept small pin triggers while rifles produced by Colt between 1991 and late 2009 commonly take large pin triggers.
Since Velocity Triggers produces a couple “large pin” triggers for older model Colt AR rifles, you’ll need to take a measurement of your hammer and trigger pins if you’re purchasing our large pin trigger for a Colt rifle. Small pin diameter are generally 0.154 in. in diameter while our large pin triggers are designed to fit AR-15 lowers with a pin diameter of 0.174.[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column] [/et_pb_row] [/et_pb_section]
